I haven't written a word since a week ago. I have written different versions of chapter one - and each version tells actually a different story! Darn, writing a novel is so hard! I can't make up my mind, there are so many plots, but I don't know how to end them!
So I'm changing tactics. I'm taking it easy.
I'm a culture editor at a local newspaper, so I'll focus on reading as much as I can. I'll feed my brains with works of others - learn from others. At the same time as this tactic will teach me how to gather my thoughts better and write them, this will also improve my work as an editor.
At 39, I have a stable job that I love. But there should always be room for learning and improvement. Otherwise, life's a bore.
I got the job as a culture editor because I asked for it. I remembered talking to our general manager in the beginning of 2008 and telling him that I am eager and ready for the position. A year later, I became the first official culture editor of Sigtunabygden.
But the excitement shouldn't end there - when I got the job I wanted.
I want to learn more, be more cultivated, experiment with the contents and lay-out.
I am looking forward to 2010.
